Thai Women's Volleyball Beats Indonesia, Eyes China Semifinal

Thailand's women's volleyball team defeated Indonesia 3-0 (25-10, 29-27, 25-16) in the quarterfinals of the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, advancing to the semifinals.

After the match, head coach Kiarti Ratchtagrien said the team was tired but praised Indonesia's performance despite the early morning game being difficult for both sides. In the first set, Indonesia did not play at full strength and Thailand controlled the match well. In the second set, he commended Indonesia's strong serving and blocking, while noting Thailand made many errors before regaining focus and fighting back.

"Early on we lost our system, but fortunately we adjusted in time. Once we started playing well again, everything became more efficient. It was a competitive game and we gained valuable experience before regaining control in the third set," Ratchtagrien said. "After this match we all need to discuss what we need to fix because we have no time for practice. We must compete in an important match tomorrow and need to check our athletes' physical condition. Yesterday's opening ceremony was an honor for us, and meeting Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari was very meaningful."

Regarding the next opponent, Ratchtagrien said, "Facing China is tough work. China is a quality team at world level. I see them as still ahead of us—it won't be easy to beat them. We need to be fully prepared in every aspect: physically, technically, and mentally. I hope all athletes will give their all and the coaching staff will provide full support as we prepare for tomorrow's match."
