The Thai squad had impressed in the group stage, sweeping all three matches—beating Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, and Chinese Taipei by identical 3-0 scorelines to finish as Group C champions.
Coach Kiatiphong Ratchatakrainkai fielded his starting six of Pornpan Gertprachai, Taddao Nukchaeng, Sasipha Janthavisut, Pimppicha Kaekram, Chatchaon Moksri, and Kaewkalya Kamulthala, with Kalyarat Khamvong as the libero.
In the first set, Thailand dominated, closing it 25-10. Indonesia fought back in the second set with improved receiving and built an early lead, but Thailand rallied and eventually won in a tight deuce, 29-27. The third set saw Thailand return to form, winning 25-16 to clinch the match.
Thailand has now advanced to the semifinals, where they await the winner of the China-Vietnam quarterfinal.
