Fire Destroys Abandoned Thai Wooden House, Six Puppies Dead

A major fire broke out at 01:50 on September 20, 2569, destroying an old two-story Thai wooden house in a soi near a bank in Mueang Kao subdistrict, Kabinburi district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, alarming residents in the middle of the night. The old wooden structure burned intensely, with high flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky. Officials set up lighting equipment and deployed water from multiple directions to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent houses.

After receiving the report, rescue workers from the Satch Buddhathamma Foundation of Thailand rushed to the scene and requested support from local government fire trucks. Four fire engines responded—one from the Mueang Kao Subdistrict Municipality and three from the Mueang Kao Municipal Office—and immediately began spraying water to contain the blaze.

According to Banjong, 67, a relative caring for the house, she was resting in a nearby home about 20 meters away when she heard a crackling sound. She ran out to find the neighboring house already engulfed in flames. The house was abandoned; the owner had died. Banjong had been visiting periodically to look after it. The owner's dog, a mother dog named Coco with newborn puppies, was left behind. Coco managed to escape the fire, but six of her puppies sheltering under the house could not flee and were killed by the flames.

When the fire collapsed part of the structure, officials discovered the tragic remains of six newborn puppies trapped and killed beneath the house. Only Coco, the mother dog, managed to escape the inferno. Following the incident, Chaitach Chaisit, the Mueang Kao municipal chief, and council members arrived to oversee firefighting efforts personally and inspect the neighborhood for public safety.

Investigators from Kabinburi Police Station are coordinating with the Forensic Science Division to examine the scene in detail and determine the exact cause of the fire and the total damage.
