BMTA Ready to Compensate Victims of Train-Bus Collision; 1.5 Million Baht Per Fatality Plus Insurance Deductibles

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is prepared to compensate victims of the train-bus collision through insurance coverage and assistance beyond standard compensation limits. On May 17, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angsakulkiate, and BMTA Director Kittikarn Jomdang visited injured passengers at Camillian Hospital to offer encouragement and support.

BMTA Director Kittikarn confirmed the organization's commitment to provide full assistance to all affected individuals, both deceased and injured, covering maximum insurance compensation as well as any expenses exceeding standard coverage, including funeral costs and medical expenses beyond insurance limits.

The BMTA has coordinated with Muang Thai Insurance and the Motor Vehicle Accident Victims Protection Fund to provide immediate assistance. Initial compensation includes 1.5 million baht per death and 80,000 to 500,000 baht per injury case. Relatives of Route 206 passengers can contact the Ratchathewi District Office at 06-3935-5369 or the BMTA Contact Center at 1348 for inquiries, name searches, or additional information.
