Brothers Surrender After Fatal Shooting at Ordination Ceremony

Two brothers surrendered to police after a shooting at an ordination ceremony in Ayutthaya killed one man and injured another on July 11.

Two brothers have surrendered to police in connection with a shooting that erupted during a pre-ordination ceremony celebration in Moo 7, Phraya Ban Lue subdistrict, Lat Bua Luang district, Ayutthaya province in the early morning hours of July 11. The incident claimed the life of 36-year-old Piydom and left 27-year-old Suphanee injured from stray gunfire. A court had issued arrest warrants for brothers Wiroj and Thani as the perpetrators.

At 6:30 p.m. on July 11, 2026, the two brothers contacted police to surrender, arriving with relatives and close associates to meet with investigators from the Provincial Police Region 1 task force. They were then transported to Lat Bua Luang Police Station in Ayutthaya province. Upon arrival, police immediately brought the suspects into an interrogation room. Throughout their detention, both suspects wore face masks and refused to speak with reporters before undergoing formal questioning.
