Busy Day for Rescue Team! US Firefighters Help Dog Stranded on Rooftop, Netizens Left Wondering "How Did It Even Get Up There?"
A dog stranded on a two-story Maryland rooftop was rescued by Baltimore County police and firefighters, who believe the pet escaped through an open second-floor window and couldn't climb back down.
Police and firefighters in Maryland, USA, responded to rescue a dog found stranded on the roof of a two-story townhouse, alarming nearby residents. The incident occurred on Tuesday, with the Baltimore County Police Department reporting via social media (@baltcopolice) that officers from District 12 station in Dundalk received a call after someone spotted the dog on a residential rooftop.
Upon arrival, officers coordinated with a nearby neighbor who allowed police to enter the home to plan their approach. Officer A. Flores accessed the second-floor back window as an entry point and carefully climbed onto the sloped roof to help the stranded dog. Using reassuring words and encouragement, Officer Flores convinced the dog to approach him, safely resolving the immediate danger.
Firefighters then arrived to assist and used their ladder truck to safely lower both the officer and the dog from the roof. Police initially suspect the dog accidentally escaped through an open second-floor window before becoming trapped on the steeply sloped roof, unable to climb back down on its own.
After the successful rescue, the dog was transferred to local animal services for temporary care until its owner could be contacted and reunited with their pet.
