BYD has taken swift action following a viral social media incident involving dealership staff. A customer posted video evidence showing employees removing the camera cable from an electric vehicle and engaging in inappropriate behavior, including using vulgar language while test-driving the car and speaking with mechanics. The customer was shocked to discover that the camera system had been tampered with after dropping off the vehicle at the service center. On April 30, 2026, BYD RÊVER Thailand released an official statement apologizing for the incident and the improper conduct displayed by employees during their work duties, which violated the company's standards and code of conduct. Following an investigation with the dealership, the company confirmed that all individuals involved were dealership employees and that the dealership has immediately terminated their employment. While acknowledging the incident occurred at the dealership level, BYD stated that such behavior is completely unacceptable and announced plans to closely monitor the situation and implement additional disciplinary measures against the dealership according to company guidelines. Moving forward, BYD will review and strengthen its oversight of the dealer network, including service standards and professional conduct policies to prevent similar incidents. The company apologized to all customers and the public for the impact caused by this incident.
