A Facebook user recently shared a video of a heated exchange between a man and an employee at a mobile phone shop, culminating in the employee being splashed with water. The post raised questions about alleged theft by the employer, sparking online debate about whether the incident was real or staged.

On September 11, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., shop owner Khaeng addressed the matter with an online news outlet, confirming that the viral clip showed only part of the full incident and that the company had genuinely suffered a theft of multiple iPhones totaling approximately 200,000 baht in damage. Khaeng said the company has referred the matter to its legal team. About a day after the video was released, the accused employee's relatives brought cash to compensate for the initial damages, with documentation provided to the legal team for further proceedings.

According to Khaeng, the water-splashing occurred during a staff training session on customer service techniques. When he learned of the missing inventory, the confrontation ensued. The owner acknowledged that the released video was not the complete footage and that a longer version exists showing prior discussion before the water incident.

The shop owner explained that the company initially suspected only one or two iPhones were missing, but upon investigation discovered a pattern of theft. An online sales representative had been closing sales without delivering merchandise in order to claim commissions. When stock checks revealed discrepancies, further investigation uncovered multiple incidents of phones being removed over approximately two months, with one or two units taken each time, ultimately totaling the 200,000 baht loss.

Khaeng expressed concern that undetected theft could have resulted in even greater losses and affected other innocent employees. He acknowledged that the incident has caused stress to honest and diligent staff members, some reportedly distressed enough to cry over the situation.
