A bubble tea shop owner in Muang Nakhon Ratchasima district has reported discovering long-running embezzlement by a staff member. The owner, Ms. Sukanda, revealed that she detected the fraud on August 29 after noticing the shop's sales had declined continuously despite steady raw material purchases. Upon reviewing security footage and financial records, she found that the employee had been pocketing customer payments instead of recording them in the system, and had also been transferring money into a personal bank account.
Initially, the owner considered closing the business, believing it was unprofitable. However, detailed investigation of CCTV footage and financial documents revealed the employee's misconduct. The evidence showed cash being taken directly from customers and placed in a personal pocket, along with evening withdrawals from the till. The owner estimated the loss at nearly 100,000 baht, though the true amount may be higher as more irregularities emerged with each review.
The owner expressed deep disappointment, stating that the most painful aspect was the betrayal of trust rather than the money itself. She had previously shown the employee goodwill and assistance over an extended period. When the shop attempted to negotiate a settlement, the employee claimed to take only 50-100 baht daily, contradicting the evidence uncovered. After the employee failed to appear for a second mediation meeting, the owner gathered all evidence and filed a formal complaint with Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police, demanding damages based on the documented losses.
