Auto Parts Employee Arrested for Stealing 2.5 Million Baht
Bangkok police have arrested a 34-year-old auto parts company employee wanted for embezzling 2.5 million baht collected from customers. The suspect, identified as Mr. Thanaphon, was apprehended in Bang Khae district on a Nakhon Pathom court warrant for theft by an employee. He allegedly failed to remit customer payments totaling 2.5 million baht in 2018 and fled when summoned for prosecution. He also faces a separate extortion warrant from another province.
Phetkasem police arrested an auto parts company money collector after his employer sent him to collect 2.5 million baht from customers and he fled with the funds. The arrest took place at 11:25 a.m. on November 3, 2026, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Pramot Janbunkaew, Phetkasem Station Superintendent, Pol. Lt. Thawatchai Thipwong, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Yutthapong Plongkhong, Investigation Division Chief. They apprehended Mr. Thanaphon (surname withheld), 34, wanted on a Nakhon Pathom Provincial Court warrant for "theft by employee" (No. 612/2025, dated July 2, 2025). The arrest occurred in Soi Phetkasem 69, Lak Song Subdistrict, Bang Khae District, Bangkok.
The case stems from Mr. Panuphong, formerly known as Mr. Thanaphon, who worked as a salesman for a company operating in machinery rental, hire-purchase, and auto parts for trucks and other vehicles. The company dispatched him to collect payments from customers totaling 2,519,990 baht, which belonged to the company. However, Mr. Thanaphon failed to hand over the money, causing financial damage. The company filed a complaint at Mueang Nakhon Pathom Police Station in May 2018. Investigators summoned the suspect, informed him of the charges, but did not detain him. Later, when summoned for prosecution proceedings, he failed to appear, prompting the court to issue an arrest warrant.
During questioning, Mr. Thanaphon denied the employee theft charge. A background check also revealed an outstanding warrant from Pho Kaeo Police Station for extortion. He has been handed over to investigating officers for further legal proceedings.
