BEM Welcomes Mahidol Engineering Students to Purple Line Facility
BEM hosted Mahidol University engineering students at the MRT Purple Line maintenance center for a hands-on study visit covering operations, maintenance, and simulation training.
Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM) hosted faculty and industrial engineering students from Mahidol University's Faculty of Engineering for a study visit to the MRT Purple Line's Klong Bang Phai Maintenance Center. Under the theme "Learning Moments: Learn & Lead – BEM, Rail System Technology Experts Meeting New Era Demands," the visit gave students hands-on exposure to real-world operations, knowledge transfer from rail experts, and insight into applying engineering principles and technology to modern mass transit management.
The group toured three key areas: the Operation Control Centre (OCC) to learn train control and safety management, the Main Workshop (MWS) to study train inspection, maintenance, and engineering-based maintenance planning, and the Driving Train Simulator Room (DTS) to experience simulation technology used for staff training and skill development, with BEM experts providing close guidance and sharing experiences.
BEM is committed to promoting learning and developing the next generation's potential by linking academic knowledge with practical experience, offering perspectives on rail engineering and technology, and inspiring students to prepare for careers as quality professionals in Thailand's future rail industry.
