As a founding member of the Global Compact Network Thailand since 2018, the company has maintained its commitment to sustainable development paired with economic, social, and environmental growth. The event at True Digital Park, themed "From Shock to Shift: Sustainable Transition in a Fractured World," reinforces True Corporation's role as a Thai technology leader ready to harness digital innovation for positive change.
True's leadership vision emphasizes "Responsible AI": the faster and more powerful AI becomes, the more carefully it must be governed. True Corporation CEO Sigve Brekke, speaking on "From Algorithmic Shock to Ethical Shift: Why Trust is the Currency of Thailand's Digital Future," compared AI to a supercar—greater speed and power demand greater oversight and responsibility. Just as roads need traffic laws and speed limits to prevent danger, AI requires governance frameworks. As AI increasingly influences recommendations, decisions, and tasks, critical questions arise: who is accountable when AI fails, who corrects it, and who can stop it? True has implemented AI oversight across the entire lifecycle, from risk screening and privacy checks to human judgment and partner accountability, culminating in an AI Council. Both business and government must accelerate development of Responsible AI frameworks to keep pace with rapid technological growth, including creating testing grounds and upskilling talent before widespread deployment.
