Driver Fined for Blocking Emergency Ambulance on Bangkok Expressway

A white BYD electric sedan driver has been fined for failing to yield to an emergency ambulance transporting a critically ill monk on the second elevated expressway north of Bangkok Central Station on September 23, 2025. The Traffic Police Facebook page reported that following a video of the incident shared on social media, officers from the expressway traffic unit and Express Traffic Control Center 2 summoned the driver to face charges and issued a fine under the charge of failing to give way to an emergency vehicle. Police also issued guidance on proper conduct when encountering emergency vehicles with activated lights or sirens, emphasizing that drivers must remain alert, slow down, and immediately make way, as every second an emergency vehicle is delayed could mean the difference in saving someone's life.
