On May 17 at People's Square in front of Bangkok City Hall, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittiphand stated during remarks before joining a City Run event that he will resign tomorrow, May 18, at 5 PM. "People ask why I need to resign—it's because I need to travel abroad. My son Sanpadit will be receiving his final degree, and he wanted me to attend," Chadchart said. He also confirmed that he will run for a second term as Bangkok Governor.
