The driver had been displaying the weapon along various routes, starting from San Pa Tong district where patrol police received reports but found nothing. Similar reports came from Hang Dong district regarding the irrigation canal route, and from Mae Ping district, but officers could not locate the vehicle each time. Eventually, security personnel at the Lanna Agricultural area in Saraphi reported seeing a man in the black pickup brandishing a gun in a threatening manner and notified Saraphi police. Police patrol units responded, located the driver, and took him into custody. He was brought to Saraphi Police Station for questioning, and the firearm was seized as evidence pending further investigation into his motive.
