Looking at recent history, the two sides have met five times since September 2022, with Thailand holding the edge: a 1‑1 draw in December 2022, a 2‑2 draw in January 2025, a 4‑0 win in December 2024, a 2‑2 draw in June 2024, and a 3‑0 win in September 2023.

Forward Supachai Chaiyadet of Buriram United said the squad shares a single goal: to win the championship. "We want to win every match we play to be the best in this tournament," he explained. "We know how to handle Indonesia’s players, and if they underestimate us we can punish them."

Midfielder Chanathip, who has German heritage, added that the final promises an exciting contest and that the Thai side is prepared to cope with Indonesia’s strengths while looking to capitalize on any mistakes.
