CIB Raids Observatory, Finds Stripped Luxury Cars from Hat Yai Floods
Central Investigation Bureau officers raided a 4-rai observatory property in Pathum Thani linked to "Got Athip" Ananthawan, uncovering two luxury cars — a Mercedes-Benz and a BMW — with stripped interiors and no license plates. The vehicles were allegedly purchased from the Hat Yai flood disaster. The raid follows arrest warrants sought for Got Athip and his wife, Nangsuda "Boom" Wongphudi, in connection with an economic crime investigation.
Police from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) raided the observatory house of "Got Athip" in Pathum Thani, discovering two luxury vehicles with stripped interiors and exposed wiring. The operation followed the ECD gathering evidence and petitioning the Criminal Court for arrest warrants for Nangsuda "Boom" Wongphudi and Got Athip on November 5, along with search warrants for four locations suspected of being used to commit crimes or conceal evidence.
At 7:00 a.m. on November 6, 2026, reporters noted that over 10 Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) officers executed a search warrant from the Ratchada Criminal Court at a 4-rai observatory house on Klong 9 Road, Moo 7, Bueng Kham San, Nong Suea, Pathum Thani. The property serves as the residence of Got Athip Ananthawan, 52, husband of Boom Panadda. Officers shouted for occupants and waited over an hour with no response. The house, set deep off the main road and usually locked, was surrounded by white tents covering large piles of items.
The village headwoman, Janthana Sutsawat, stated that land filling began around 2024 by individuals claiming the land was purchased under "Khun Boom's" name, though she never saw Boom visit. Construction started in 2024 and continued steadily. The property remains secluded with little visible activity. Land title documents shown for a house registration request listed "Khun Athip" as the rights holder. No community events or donations were ever organized there.
At 8:20 a.m., a foreign national claiming to be the caretaker opened the gate with keys. After reading the warrant, CIB officers entered and found a white Mercedes-Benz and a black BMW Series 5, both without license plates. Both vehicles had missing driver and passenger seats, with wiring strewn throughout. Preliminary checks indicate Got Athip purchased the cars legitimately from the Hat Yai flood event, among more than 10 vehicles, and they are believed to be flood-damaged. Officers also searched a single-story residence, the observatory, and two other single-story structures, barring media from entering.
