TV Host Sanan Ling Reveals Two Siblings' Suicide Over Debt
TV host Sanan Ling revealed on a November 4 show that his two younger siblings died by suicide together over overwhelming debt, leaving their mother to discover them.
On the latest episode of "Panya LIFE EP.03" aired November 4, 2026, host Sia Ta Panya speaks with celebrity guest Sanan Ling about his life journey from temple boy to famous MC. During the candid conversation about helping others until it led to personal debt, Sanan Ling reveals the heartbreaking truth about his two younger siblings.
"They didn't tell us anything. To this day we still don't know the full extent," Sanan Ling says through tears. "Both my mother and I helped them tremendously. It was impossible for them to earn that kind of money for daily expenses. We knew about maybe 20 to 30 percent of it but couldn't help with the rest. We gave unconditionally — my mother even sold land, gave everything — and then... they... both died."
Sanan Ling explains both siblings took their own lives together. "What hurts most is that our mother was the one who found them. Our father was devastated, barely able to cope. In the end, he had to compose himself and carry on."
He credits his close industry friend Peggy Sri-thanya for giving him strength: "She said they didn't want parents, siblings, and relatives to suffer for them anymore, so they made the hardest decision of their lives — to leave together."
Sanan Ling recounts how his 80-plus-year-old father couldn't stop crying when asked about the loss. Following his teacher's advice to allow himself to grieve, Sanan Ling told his father: "Permit yourself to be sad. Permit yourself to miss them. You don't have to suppress it. If you want to cry, cry. But then you must compose yourself and walk forward, because you still have children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
"My teacher taught that we must allow ourselves to have wounds because they're real, not fake. Otherwise you'll bottle it up and have problems. I applied this to my parents and they opened up. We eventually talked about my siblings... it wasn't pleasant, but finally we could talk."
