Police discovered the bodies of a husband and wife in a rowhouse after their son received a farewell message and could not reach them. The son called authorities asking them to check on the house. Financial problems are suspected as the cause.

At 8:30 p.m. on August 14, 2025, Deputy Investigative Officer Buddhisit Phongphan of Muang Lampang Police Station received a report of deaths in a residential house on Srikoed Road, Huaweang Subdistrict, Muang Lampang District, near Srikoed Temple. He coordinated with rescue teams, Lampang Hospital medical staff, and forensic personnel. Officers forced open the steel door and discovered the body of a 58-year-old man hanged beneath the second-floor staircase. Searching the second floor bedroom, they found the body of a woman, approximately 55–58 years old, with a rope around her neck. Both bodies were taken for autopsy and then transferred to Lampang Hospital's forensic department.

Investigation revealed that the couple's son had called from Bangkok but received no answer, growing concerned for their safety. He alerted police to investigate. Officers found the house locked with no one answering. Using a lever, they forced the door and discovered both bodies inside.

Initial findings suggest financial hardship was the cause. The deceased couple operated a smoothie shop by renting the house. Their income did not cover expenses, and some months they fell behind on rent. The son showed police the final chat message from his parents: "Goodbye." Preliminary evidence suggests the man harmed the woman before taking his own life beneath the second-floor staircase. Authorities will conduct a detailed investigation before proceeding further.

An unknown gunman shot and killed a village headman inside a mosque in Bangyeoring, Sai Buri, before escaping with the victim's handgun. The shooting occurred at approximately 21:30 on August 14, 2026, when assailants opened fire on Hamdi Guji, headman of Village 3 in Bangyeoring, as he was inside the mosque in Sai Buri district, Pattani province. He sustained serious injuries in the attack.

Following the incident, officers investigated the scene and transported Hamdi to Somdej Phra Yuppharat Sai Buri Hospital for treatment. However, he died from his wounds shortly thereafter.

The gunman also seized the victim's handgun during the escape. Authorities are currently examining details of the incident, collecting witness statements and evidence, and pursuing legal action against the perpetrator. The motive remains under investigation. The Pattani police command is seeking public assistance and asks anyone with information about the suspect to contact the emergency hotline 1341 or local task force units around the clock.

On August 14, 2569, Deputy Commander Noppasit Jamparat of Nam Prik Police Station received a report of a homicide in the middle of the village road in Nai M Subdistrict, Muang District, Amnat Charoen Province. He coordinated with medical staff from Amnat Charoen Hospital and Petcharoen Foundation officials to investigate.

At the scene in front of a single-story concrete house, police found the body of Kanakorn, 50, wearing an orange shirt and black long pants, lying face-up in the middle of the road. Her face bore deep lacerations from repeated cuts by a sharp object, severely disfigured. A serrated knife used in the attack was found near the body.

The attacker was identified as Somchai, 44, a cousin of the victim. After the assault, he fled to his bedroom and locked the door. Police negotiated with him to surrender, and he eventually complied. The suspect remained calm and appeared detached from the incident before being taken for questioning at Nam Prik Police Station.

A witness, Pramote, 64, revealed that the victim had been selling sausages in front of the suspect's house for three to four years. She had stopped during the rainy season for nearly a month and had just resumed selling that morning. The witness said he first noticed the victim trying to flee before she collapsed in the road, after which the suspect continued stabbing her in front of nearby residents. Nobody dared intervene out of fear, as the suspect has a history of mental health issues and has previously attacked people and bitten residents. The suspect normally stays isolated indoors and rarely speaks to anyone.

The victim's husband told reporters through tears that his wife had been selling sausages at the suspect's house for four to five years without any previous incidents or conflict. He mentioned the suspect had previously thrown bottles at neighbors' homes. The husband noted that if unsold sausages remained, he would give them to the suspect to eat. He had intended to ask his wife to help retrieve their buffalo but changed his mind and went alone, sending his wife to sell sausages instead, leading to this tragic incident.
