Damnoen Saduak Police and local administration officials launched a major raid on an illegal cockfighting den that descended into chaos as gamblers fled and police gave chase, successfully arresting 45 suspects.
On May 13, 2026, Police Major Phuphon Thapcharoen, superintendent of Damnoen Saduak Police Station in Ratchaburi Province, led approximately 50 officers from the investigation unit, special operations division, and district administration in a raid on the cockfighting operation in Moo 7, Don Kruay Subdistrict, Damnoen Saduak District.
Upon arrival, officers found gamblers gathered around the arena cheering fighting roosters. The moment they spotted police, the suspects bolted in all directions like a swarm of bees escaping. Officers pursued and managed to apprehend a total of 45 individuals, though some managed to escape due to the location's proximity to coconut plantation groves.
Authorities seized eight fighting roosters, ten game fowl, the fighting arena, chairs, betting notebooks, and other gambling equipment from the suspects. All detainees face charges of illegal cockfighting gambling operations without proper authorization, with cases being forwarded for prosecution.
