Authorities Raid Major Bangkok Gambling Den, Arrest 50
Authorities raided an illegal gambling den in Bangkok's Din Daeng District on September 23, arresting 50 people including operators and Cambodian organizers, and seizing nearly 1 million baht in cash and chips.
At 6:30 p.m. on September 23, 2026, Deputy Interior Minister Vorasit Liangprasitthikul, Democratic Party MP Chaichana Detchdecho, and other senior officials led DOPA S.W.A.T. special forces in a swift raid on an illegal gambling den operating inside a condominium on Pracha Songkroh Road in Din Daeng District, Bangkok.
Officers discovered a large hall with over 50 gamblers actively playing high-tech Hilo and horse-betting games. All suspects were detained without incident. Authorities arrested eight operators and 45 gamblers (22 men and 23 women), as well as two Cambodian organizers. No one claimed ownership of the operation.
Secured assets included approximately 350,000 baht in cash, 635,000 baht in betting chips, Hilo equipment, ledgers, and numerous other gambling devices. The raid followed public complaints from Din Daeng residents about the noise and criminal activity. All suspects were charged with operating an illegal gambling operation and participating in gambling. Authorities are pursuing money-laundering investigations and expanding the case further.
