Cyber Police Arrest Influencer in Gambling Link Scam
Cyber police arrested a Khon Kaen influencer with 640,000 followers for luring victims with promises of 18+ live streams but redirecting them to gambling websites. The 23-year-old admitted earning 200-500 baht per post promoting over 10 gambling sites as her main income. She has been charged with assisting in gambling advertising while police pursue the site operators.
On November 7, 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Thinakorn Rangmat, Deputy Commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, ordered Pol. Col. Adichat Amornpradit, Commander of the News Analysis and Special Tools Division, Sub-Division 3, to arrest Ms. Tharathip (surname withheld), a 23-year-old influencer with over 640,000 followers, at a dormitory in Mueang District, Khon Kaen. She was apprehended for deceiving followers by posting sexy photos claiming to offer 18+ couple live streams, asking victims to transfer 100 baht to join a VIP group, but instead providing links to gambling registration sites.
During questioning, she confessed that promoting gambling websites, product reviews, and VJ live streaming were her main sources of income. She earned approximately 200-500 baht per story post per account for gambling promotions and had promoted more than 10 gambling websites. Regarding the 18+ live stream promotions, she claimed it was merely a tactic to get followers to join a VIP room via the LINE app, denying any knowledge of or involvement with the gambling websites or pornographic content. Police have charged her with assisting in advertising and inviting others to gamble and are expanding the investigation to track down the gambling site operators.
