Cyber Police Await Invitation to Explain Shuffle.com Inquiry
Thailand's Cyber Police have not yet received a summons from a parliamentary committee to explain their investigation of the online gambling site Shuffle.com. They say they will send a representative immediately if invited, as they have done in the past. The investigation is being carried out under orders from the Justice Minister, with the committee also planning to hear from Shuffle.com shareholders and other agencies.
The Cyber Police said they have not yet received an invitation from the parliamentary Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights. If they do receive it, they will send a representative to clarify immediately, just as they have done in previous cases. The unit is currently investigating the Shuffle.com website in accordance with an order from the Justice Minister, and will report its findings to the minister once the investigation is complete. The committee intends to summon Suchada Sang Thanthap of the Thai Pride Party and her husband Taiyang Zhang, who are shareholders in Shuffle.com, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, the Central Investigation Bureau, and the Cyber Police, to provide information.
