Go-Kart Champion’s Win Protested Over Engine Specs
The service team for young go‑kart racer Nong Phayu denied allegations of cheating after his victory in the CADET B class sparked a protest from a rival team. They said the car passed inspection and the engine parts complied with the series’ technical regulations. The protesting team manager said he sought clarity on competition standards, not because his son lost.
The DT Motorsport team later posted a detailed clarification on dt_motorsport.th, citing the Superkart Thailand 2026 Technical Regulation and the IAME X30 Water Swift 60cc homologation forms. They noted that regulation clause 14 requires the IAME X30 Water Swift 60cc engine with Tillotson HW‑31A, and that the cylinder head used on car number 69 matches the approved homologation. The car underwent and passed both pre‑race and post‑race technical inspection, with no reported errors or fraud. The team reiterated they had no intention to gain an unfair advantage or cheat to win.
