Cyber police arrested Achiraya Ruangratanapong, chairman of a victim assistance group, on charges of public fraud, computer crime violations, money laundering, and illegal gambling. He was taken to the Thung Song Hong police station for detention pending transfer to the Criminal Court on the morning of October 5. On October 4, 2026, police brought him food, but he said he was not hungry and appeared normal, showing no stress or special requests. In the morning, retired army doctor Colonel Thawatchai Kanchanarin visited to see him but left before visiting hours ended, reporting that he intended to give encouragement. No other visitors or relatives came. Thawatchai said he came to cheer Achiraya up, noting that everyone has wounds and those who stand up risk getting hurt.
