Deputy PM Files Defamation Complaint Against Yingluck Over Scandal Claims
Deputy PM Songkitti Tongsoree is filing a defamation complaint against Yingluck Shinawatra after she publicly linked him to an alleged procurement scandal.
Deputy Prime Minister Songkitti Tongsoree has instructed lawyers to compile evidence and file a defamation complaint against Yingluck Shinawatra at Bueng Kan Police Station over her public disclosure linking him to an alleged procurement scheme. At a government compound briefing on July 28, 2025 at 8:30 a.m., Songkitti addressed his inclusion among nine individuals named by Yingluck Shinawatra, director of the Internet for People Law project (iLaw), in connection with the controversy. Songkitti said legal teams are currently transcribing Yingluck's statements, with portions deemed to constitute defamation, and will file an official complaint with police in Bueng Kan province, his registered home address.
