The event attracted over 6,000 participants including senior government officials from seven ministries, former transport deputy ministers, provincial lawmakers, and the public, all joining in seven consecutive ritual dances that culminated in a shared performance between locals and tourists.
The festival, held annually from July 7-13 along the "Path of Faith" pilgrimage route, generates significant economic activity and tourism revenue for the province. The ceremony proceeded smoothly despite the typical rainy season, with clear skies blessing the celebration that showcases the region's rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
A notable highlight was the Deputy PM's wearing of the Sri Kothaburui suit—an intricately hand-woven silk ensemble originating from the ancient Khmer kingdom in the Mekong River basin, featuring traditional indigo and red dyes combined with patterned silk reflecting prosperity and stability. The garment was crafted by local weavers in Tha Reua village, Nakhon Phanom, under a royal initiative championing local artisanal heritage and community pride.
