Doctor Vong Denies Meeting Businessman Over M50 Procurement Row
Thai Loyalty Party MP Doctor Vong Dechkitvikrom rejected a businessman's request to meet over allegations of spec-locking in vocational equipment procurement, calling on the Education Ministry instead to investigate the claims.
Doctor Vong Dechkitvikrom, Thai Loyalty Party MP and faction leader, has revealed he was approached by a businessman seeking to meet about his calls for the Education Ministry to investigate "Mr M50" over allegations of spec-locking in vocational equipment procurement.
On September 21, Vong posted on Facebook addressing the Education Minister after debates over the fiscal year 2025 budget and a press briefing on the purchase of robotic equipment for educational use by the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. He alleged that specs were locked through a 6D mouse control system managed by Mr M50.
Rather than the Education Ministry establishing a fact-finding committee and clarifying matters to the public, Vong said that on September 20 afternoon, a businessman claiming to have invented 6D mouse technology sought to meet him at Thai Loyalty Party headquarters. Vong's team happened to answer as he was out of province, and the businessman refused a phone call, insisting on a face-to-face meeting to discuss the allegations and money transfers.
"I want to call on the Education Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yasothon Vongswasdi to note that I have no duty to meet or clarify matters with any businessman regarding the issues I have raised. It is your responsibility to establish a fact-finding committee and inform the public. My duty is to protect the interests of the people and the nation, not to clarify or reach understanding with any businessman," Vong stated.
