Lawmaker Alleges Corruption in Vocational Education Office

In parliamentary debate on the Ministry of Education and its affiliated agencies, Dr. Worng Dechkitvikrom alleged widespread corruption in vocational education procurement, claiming that officials demand 50 million baht for promotions and 70 million baht annually to maintain positions. He stated that equipment specifications have been rigged to favor certain companies and that influential individuals, whom he referred to as "M50," are extracting personal benefits from vocational education while students suffer.
Worng urged Deputy Prime Minister Yossanan Wungsawat, the education minister, to address the issue and called for a 10 percent budget cut to the Vocational Education Office until corruption is resolved.
