Bangkok Dog Mauls Caretaker to Death, Second Fatal Attack
A 7-year-old pit bull named Giant fatally mauled its 70-year-old caretaker in Bangkok on September 9, marking the dog's second deadly attack after killing its owner in 2021.
A pit bull mix named Giant has killed its caretaker in Bangkok, marking the second fatal attack by the same dog. The incident occurred at a residential property at Nuwaminthara 111, Soi 7, Nuwaminthara Subdistrict, Bueng Kum District, Bangkok, at around 8 p.m. on September 9, 2025. Lad Prao Police officers, emergency physicians, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation discovered a 70-year-old female caretaker dead, with severe bite wounds to the face, neck, and right arm.
Investigators found that the dog, a 7-year-old pit bull mix named Giant, had become aggressive when the caretaker was bathing and trying to collar it after a wash. During the struggle, the dog attacked and fatally mauled the caretaker.
This is Giant's second fatal attack. The dog previously killed its owner, a 56-year-old man named Wisit, in 2021 at a residence in Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province. After that incident, the Pitbull Zone Club took custody of the dog. Authorities are investigating whether anyone else has taken responsibility for the dog's care since it went to the club, and whether inadequate supervision or handling contributed to this second fatal attack.
