The standoff has now entered its eighth hour as darkness falls. Officers have installed floodlights around the property and continue negotiating while maintaining security.
Police initially cut power to the residence before restoring it through coordination with the electricity authority. Tactical options are being prepared in case the situation extends into the night. However, negotiations remain the primary strategy after the suspect's son, a police officer stationed in Southern Thailand, requested that officers wait for his arrival so he can attempt to persuade his father to surrender peacefully. Police have postponed some tactical plans to allow the son to speak with his father, with the goal of resolving the situation without additional loss of life.
A municipal official who witnessed the incident provided a detailed account while requesting anonymity. The witness was delivering documents to the teacher when a white vehicle arrived and the school housekeeper identified it as the teacher's husband's car. The suspect entered the school rapidly, visibly carrying a pistol. The witness recounted: "He walked very fast, didn't speak to anyone. I saw him holding a gun. When the teacher came out, he just fired once and the teacher fell." The shooting took less than two minutes from the suspect's entry to his departure. After the teacher collapsed, the suspect paused briefly before leaving and driving away. Staff immediately locked the school doors and alerted authorities.
The witness stated he was unaware of any family problems or motive for the shooting, knowing the suspect only from local community events where they exchanged normal greetings. The witness confirmed the teacher had been friendly in past work interactions. The official acknowledged remaining shaken by witnessing the incident from close proximity and expressed hope that negotiations and family efforts would lead to the suspect's peaceful surrender, saying he did not want to see further loss of life.
