A 15-year-old boy, identified as A, died from stab wounds following an altercation and knife attack near a repair shop on Soi Khlong Song, Bangchan Subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok, on September 20 at approximately 4 a.m. Police leadership ordered units from Khannayao Station and Division 2 to coordinate investigations. Officers arrested 16 suspects between September 20 at 5:30 p.m., identified as: juveniles aged 14, 15, 17, and adults aged 18 and 19. The suspects were apprehended on Phra Ya Surendhorn Road in Khlong Sam Wa District.
Investigators found that the victim rode past the group on a motorcycle, an altercation ensued, and the victim drew a fake gun despite carrying only two knives, prompting the group to call for reinforcements. Evidence showed the victim had previously attacked one of the suspects, O, 15, who then used a knife to stab the victim, resulting in fatal injuries.
Police charged the suspects with joint murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying firearms in public without a permit, carrying knives in public, threatening with intimidation, and firing explosives in public areas. The 14 juvenile and young adult suspects will be processed under juvenile and family court law and transferred to Minburi Youth and Family Court. The two adult suspects will undergo standard investigation and be presented before the competent court.
