A 25-year-old man consumed 10 methamphetamine pills to energize himself before riding his motorcycle to deliver drugs. Midway through his delivery, he encountered police and decided to flee. Unable to navigate a corner safely, he crashed into a roadside power pole. Subsequent search revealed 1.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hidden under the bike's seat, along with 61 more methamphetamine pills.

On October 6, 2025, the Chumphon Highway Police Subregion conducted the operation under the command of officers including Deputy Superintendent Charan Panasri. Officers were patrolling Highway 4 (Phetchkasem Road) near kilometer 439+100 in Salui Subdistrict, Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province, when they spotted Pongsak (surname withheld), 25, riding a modified Honda Wave 125i that matched an informant's tip. When ordered to stop for inspection, Pongsak panicked, accelerated, and fled. Officers pursued until his motorcycle crashed violently into a power pole, rendering it inoperable and leaving him safely apprehended.

A search of Pongsak's person found 61 methamphetamine pills. When officers searched under the motorcycle seat, they discovered 1.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. Police also seized one mobile phone, 9,000 baht in cash, and a urine test confirmed the presence of narcotics in his system.

During interrogation, Pongsak confessed that he had been contacted via Line to collect drugs for delivery to customers in Tha Sae and Mueang districts, earning approximately 5,000 baht per delivery. This was his second run. He admitted to consuming 10 methamphetamine pills before departing to energize himself for the task. Officers initially charged him with possession of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, possession of Category 1 narcotics without authorization, and operating a motorcycle while under the influence of Category 1 narcotics. He was transferred to Salui Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Minister Suchat Chomklin has thrown his support behind the tracking team pursuing the tiger responsible for killing a ranger at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, ordering agencies to implement maximum safety measures for staff working in the area. The tiger family continues to hunt normally within its established territory and has not fled or threatened nearby communities. If it hunts successfully and behaves normally, it will remain in the ecosystem with tracking devices for long-term study. However, if it shows signs of repeated attacks on staff, capture and rehabilitation procedures will be initiated.

Bangkok and the Special Areas Development Administration for Sustainable Tourism (SADT) have jointly opened the Thailand Creative Cities Network (TCCN) Forum 2026 at Bangkok Railway Station with five key network partners participating in the launch.

The forum seeks to establish a model platform bringing together network partners to advance creative cities through knowledge exchange and experience sharing in urban development, using cultural capital and creative thinking to elevate cities, foster creative economies, and promote sustainable tourism in practical ways.

This marks the first UNESCO Creative Cities Network forum held in Thailand and represents an important opportunity to exchange knowledge and advance global sustainable development through the creative cities network.

Siripakorn Chiewsamutchorn, SADT Director, stated that the TCCN Forum 2026, organized jointly with Bangkok, invited 13 creative cities from Thailand and internationally to build awareness of urban development under UNESCO's Creative Cities Network concept. The event showcases Thailand's progress in developing the UNESCO creative cities network and serves as a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives on creative city development from experts and representatives from Thai and international creative cities under the theme "Creative Cities Connect: Connecting People-Culture-Creativity-Sustainability."

The 13 participating cities will exchange concepts and factors that enhance urban competitiveness, making cities more livable and attractive to tourists, with exhibitions from each city featuring:

– Nine Thai creative cities across four categories: Gastronomy Cities (Phuket, Phetchaburi, and Songkhla); Crafts and Folk Art Cities (Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, and Nan); Design Cities (Bangkok and Chiang Rai); and Music City (Suphan Buri), with SADT supporting six of these cities: Sukhothai, Nan, Songkhla, Chiang Rai, Suphan Buri, and Phetchaburi.
