60-Year-Old Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of Minor

A 60-year-old man was arrested in Samut Prakan province for sexually assaulting a minor after police acted on a warrant issued by Bangkok South Criminal Court.

Police units led by senior officers raided a rental house in Tambon Tai Ban Mai, Muang district, Samut Prakan province, and arrested 60-year-old Somkhit following an arrest warrant No. 1011/2569 issued by Bangkok South Criminal Court on August 3. He faces charges of abducting a minor aged 15-18 from parental care without justification for sexual abuse, and rape through threats and coercion.

The arrest followed an informant tip that Somkhit had fled to the rental house. Upon arrival, officers served the arrest warrant.

During questioning, Somkhit confessed to the act but claimed erectile dysfunction prevented full completion. He was transferred to Bang Rak Police Station for further legal proceedings.
