Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing 10-Year-Old Foster Child Over Two Years
A 61-year-old Bangkok man was arrested for sexually abusing his 10-year-old foster daughter over two years, after the child disclosed the abuse to her school teacher.
On September 22, 2026, officers from the Khlong Toei Police Station arrested a 61-year-old man named Sakul under an arrest warrant issued by Phra Khanong Criminal Court on September 15, 2026. He was charged with indecent conduct against a child under thirteen years of age using means other than penetration. The arrest took place outside Khlong Toei Police Station in Bangkok.
The case stems from incidents between May 2023 and July 2025, during which the suspect sexually abused a 10-year-old foster girl. The child eventually disclosed the abuse to her teacher, who reported it to social welfare officials. Authorities removed the child from her home and filed a complaint, leading to the arrest warrant and subsequent apprehension.
During questioning, Sakul denied the charges. He claimed he had taken in the child at approximately one year old because she had been abandoned in another province with no guardian. He stated he raised her as his own child and loved her deeply, hoping she would eventually care for him in old age. He acknowledged that the child became rebellious around age ten and that he scolded her, but he firmly denied any sexual misconduct. Sakul said he was shocked to be accused of such abuse. He was subsequently handed over to Khlong Toei Police Station for legal proceedings.
