Thai Tennis Doubles Prize Money to Boost Asian Games Athletes
Thailand is doubling prize money for tennis athletes at the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, offering 4 million baht for gold medals to boost performance across five competition categories starting September 27.
Thailand's tennis team completed final training on September 22 before departing for the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, with tennis competition running from September 27 to October 3, 2025. Tennis Association of Thailand president Suchai Pornchaisakdium announced a special incentive package doubling the National Sports Development Fund rewards: gold medal winners will receive 4 million baht per category, silver medalists 2 million baht, and bronze medalists 1 million baht. Standard government prize money is 2 million baht for gold, 1 million for silver, and 500,000 baht for bronze.
Suchai expressed confidence in the team's readiness, noting that at the previous Asian Games, Thai tennis won bronze in men's doubles and hopes to perform even better this time across multiple categories. The training session drew media coverage as team officials, coaches, sports scientists, and trainers prepared the squad. The men's team includes players nicknamed Boom, Maxxi, Dragonfly, Junior, Owen, and Nat, while the women's team features players known as Mai, Eve, Omsil, Tae, and Earth. The 2025 Asian Games tennis tournament offers five gold medals across five categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
