Man Arrested for Sexual Abuse of 10-Year-Old Granddaughter
A 59-year-old man was arrested in Nakhon Ratchasima on September 29 for sexually abusing his 10-year-old granddaughter over three years and coercing her to produce explicit videos, a case discovered when the girl's mother found the material
On September 29, Lieutenant General Pattanasak Buppasuwan, commander of the Crime Suppression Division, ordered officers to arrest Bunyrit (surname withheld), 59, based on a warrant issued by Nan Provincial Court on March 28, 2567, for attempted rape of a child under 15 and child abduction for indecent purposes. Officers apprehended him near a public road in Mueang 1, Ban Han subdistrict, Sichiew district, Nakhon Ratchasima.
The case began on December 28, 2566, when the mother of a 10-year-old girl discovered explicit videos of her daughter sent to Bunyrit, her brother-in-law. Upon questioning, the girl revealed that Bunyrit had ordered her to create the videos and threatened to tell her family about previous sexual assaults if she refused. She complied out of fear.
The victim disclosed that Bunyrit had sexually abused her since approximately age seven over a period of about three years, but she was too afraid to tell anyone because he threatened to flee from her aunt. After learning of the abuse, the mother filed a police report and took her daughter for a medical examination to preserve evidence. Bunyrit fled to hideouts in Nakhon Ratchasima but was eventually tracked down and arrested. He currently denies all allegations and has been handed to investigative police at Wiang Sa Police Station in Nan for further legal proceedings.
