Satellite Images Show Flooding in 29 Thai Provinces
Satellite imagery shows flooding across nearly 1.63 million rai in 29 Thai provinces, with authorities using the data to coordinate disaster response efforts across central and eastern regions.
The Geoinformatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) released satellite data from Sentinel-1D dated September 27, 2569, revealing flooded areas of approximately 1,631,394 rai across central, western, and parts of eastern Thailand. The affected provinces include Bangkok, Phetchaburi, Phetchabun, Kanchanaburi, Kamphaengphet, Chanthaburi, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Chainat, Tak, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Sawan, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Lopburi, Samut Prakan, Saraburi, Singburi, Sukhothai, Suphan Buri, Ang Thong, and Uthai Thani.
GISTDA has forwarded this data to responsible agencies to support disaster management operations, including planning, monitoring, and continuous situation assessment. The public can track flooding updates on the website disaster.gistda.or.th and through the Check Water mobile application (available on iOS and Android), which provides real-time water movement tracking, hazard alerts, and 24-hour situation updates by location.
