Ex-Boyfriend Smashes Car After Woman Refuses Reconciliation
A 40-year-old municipal administrator's car was severely vandalized by her ex-boyfriend in Buriram after she refused his reconciliation attempts, with police investigating the incident.
Police in Muang Buriram received a report on July 6, 2026, of a vehicle being vandalized on Thanwacharamas Lane, Injanthon Road, within Buriram Municipality. Officers found a black Ford Everest SUV with severe damage to the rear, sides, and front, appearing to have been struck with a sharp or blunt object. The vehicle owner was not present, but a 45-year-old female friend of the victim remained at the scene to provide information.
According to the witness, the damaged vehicle belongs to Ms. Ning, 40, a municipal administrator in Lamphlayamaht District. The owner fled the area due to fear of assault from her ex-boyfriend, who had pursued her earlier that day. After they argued at a restaurant, Ms. Ning drove to seek help from her friend and parked the car at the scene while being driven away to hide. The ex-boyfriend sent a threatening text message stating he would "smash the window," which the friend initially dismissed as an empty threat. However, when the friend returned with the vehicle, she discovered nearly all the windows had been broken.
A nearby neighbor in a yellow shirt reported seeing a red pickup truck park near his home but was uncertain if it belonged to the perpetrator. Another neighbor mentioned hearing loud crashing sounds around 3 p.m. while it was raining but did not investigate immediately. When police arrived to investigate, he learned what had occurred. Officers documented the scene with photographs and collected statements from the victim, witnesses, and others involved. An investigation is underway to locate and prosecute the suspect.
