Ex-Police Inspector Jailed Two Years for Theft
A former Metropolitan Police Bureau investigation officer was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing a gold necklace and pendant during an illegal search of a victim's home.
An anti-corruption and misconduct court sentenced a former investigation officer from the Metropolitan Police Bureau to two years in prison without suspension for stealing a 10-baht gold chain necklace and matching gold pendant from a victim's home. The officer conducted the search without a court warrant or legal exemption, causing damage to the property owner and the National Police Office. The court found the defendant guilty under Article 157 of the Criminal Code.
The National Anti-Corruption Commission investigated the case and determined probable cause, but the suspect failed to appear before prosecutors as scheduled for prosecution. Officers issued arrest warrant No. 73/2567 on October 9, 2567.
Anti-Corruption Commission officers based in Bangkok continued the investigation until learning the suspect would appear in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province on February 1, 2569. They coordinated with Sichon Police in Nakhon Si Thammarat to apprehend the suspect, who agreed to cooperate with legal proceedings. The defendant was brought before the anti-corruption court, which delivered the two-year sentence without suspension.
