Myanmar Man Nabbed After Snatching Gold Chain
A 25-year-old Myanmar national was arrested in Bangkok's Bang Na district after snatching a gold chain from a shop; nearby motorcycle riders helped apprehend him moments after the theft.
At 10:40 a.m. on September 24, Bang Na Police received a report of a gold chain theft at Thong Petchri shop on Udomsuk Soi 1 in Bang Na district. Officers led by Deputy Investigation Officer Natthanon Nab-ngam responded with other officers to the scene, where they found four motorcycle riders who had apprehended the suspect, Sai Loot, 25, a Myanmar national. The stolen 2-baht gold chain was found in the suspect's right hand near the scene.
Shop manager Thida, 32, told police the suspect had pretended to shop for a gold chain, asked to see weights at 2 baht per piece, and then suddenly grabbed and fled. She chased him while shouting for help, and the motorcycle riders quickly caught him.
Police transferred the suspect to investigators and charged him with theft for further legal proceedings.
