The Songkhla police commander has suspended an investigation officer from the Thung Luang Police Station following complaints and revelations from female victims of coercion into filming explicit videos sold to private groups, with the youngest victim just 4 years old.

A group of female victims submitted evidence to lawyer Dr. Thanakrit Chitareerutthan, chairman of the Thanakrit Legal Volunteer Group, after the officer allegedly intimidated and forced them to film obscene content for posting and sale on hidden online groups, affecting more than 20 victims.

One of the officer's ex-girlfriends disclosed that she was forced into a relationship with him after being secretly filmed. The relationship lasted two years, during which she was repeatedly filmed in intimate moments and attempted to delete the videos. She later discovered on his phone that he habitually filmed women. On May 31, around 11:00 a.m., the officer was involved in a traffic accident in which more than 10 mobile phones spilled out of his vehicle, along with various drugs including methamphetamine and ice, which he claimed were evidence seized in investigations. She managed to secretly retrieve one phone and found explicit videos of numerous women, the youngest appearing to be only 4 years old. She then worked to identify all victims in the videos before filing a complaint on June 2.

As of August 5, 2025, police reports confirm that the Songkhla Provincial Police commander has ordered the officer from Thung Luang Police Station to be suspended from duty following complaints and revelations from the female victims.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed on August 5, 2025, that he is prepared to fly an F-16 fighter jet to inspect military readiness at Wing 1 in Nakhon Ratchasima on August 14, contingent on military approval and adherence to safety regulations. The military will brief him on security measures, exercises, and operational preparedness that have benefited from government-approved budgets and strategic initiatives over the past 10 months. When asked if the flight would demonstrate Thai military strength to adversaries, Anutin rejected the characterization, calling it a confidential briefing rather than a display of power. The Department of Land Transport is accelerating the integration of its database to automatically relax vehicle ownership requirements for welfare card holders, covering more than one million cases, with data to be submitted to the Finance Ministry by August this year. Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angsakulgkiart disclosed that the Land Transport Department is proceeding with relaxed vehicle ownership criteria for state welfare card holders by adjusting the system to automatically exempt inspections for cars over 20 years old and motorcycles over 15 years old, covering more than one million cases. The One Stop Service system connecting district offices and transport offices in certain areas is already operational and is in the process of integrating all data for submission to the Finance Ministry by August 2026 to be used in determining registered beneficiaries' eligibility. Following the recent cabinet meeting, approximately 200,000 citizens filed appeals at transport offices, which is expected to result in 2-3 million additional people qualifying for state welfare card benefits from groups previously denied eligibility. Additionally, the government is expediting services for citizens with mobility difficulties, especially seniors and persons with disabilities, by directing the Interior Ministry to coordinate with village headmen and community leaders to collect data and arrange home-based service queues to reduce benefit gaps. If citizens lodge complaints through the department or other channels, the department will expedite fact-checking and if they meet the criteria, will quickly process their benefits.

The Technology Crime Investigation Bureau (TCIB) has established a specialized task force to investigate the leak of personal information belonging to government officials discovered online. Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembut, TCIB commander, revealed that following a complaint filed on August 4 by the Ministry of Digital Economy for Society, the bureau launched a formal investigation. Deputy TCIB Commander Pol. Col. Thinkorn Rangmatej has been appointed to head the investigation team. Preliminary findings indicate that the leaked data originated from systems operated by the Department of Land Transport and the Department of Interior. The task force will conduct detailed questioning of relevant officials and those responsible for managing information technology systems at both agencies to determine how the breach occurred and trace access to the systems.

At a press conference at Government House on August 5, Transport Deputy Minister Siripon Angkhskulgiat disclosed that three suspicious IP addresses from government accounts have been detected in the data breach affecting the Department of Land Transport. The accounts showed abnormal data access patterns and search behavior, prompting the ministry to report the matter to the Cyber Police Office. The three suspicious IP addresses originated from Bangkok Noi District Office, Expressway Authority of Thailand, and the Thai Armed Forces, whose accounts have been temporarily suspended.

All government agencies that request data from the Transport Ministry and Department of Land Transport have been instructed to reset their passwords to clear any compromised credentials. Officials have not yet determined whether the data was accessed by legitimate account holders, stolen credentials, or hacked accounts. The complete list of suspects has been handed over to police for prosecution.

Deputy Minister Siripon assured the public that the leaked personal information is basic data that cannot be used for any financial transactions or property transfers. The ministry has blocked all access channels, though individuals with Dark Web access may still view the data being sold illegally. He emphasized that the ministry would never contact residents unsolicited or send links of any kind, and urged people not to panic as the compromised data cannot be used fraudulently without additional identity verification.

When asked about the scale of the breach, Siripon stated that abnormal searches affected approximately 6,000 to 7,000 people, with some accounts conducting around 2,000 searches. Regarding suspicions that high-profile individuals' data was specifically targeted, he noted that the unusual search behavior patterns warrant police investigation. When asked whether the breach was linked to Dark Web markets selling tokens for data access, Siripon suggested it was likely part of the operation but deferred to police to determine if political motivations were involved.
