Former Thai national volleyball setter Sornya Promla cheered her alma mater's girls' under‑15 volleyball team from Chiang Rai after they won the provincial PMYC title. She praised the tournament for giving rural youth a chance to compete, gain experience, and develop their skills.
Former Thailand national volleyball setter Sornya Promla said she was proud to see her old school, Ban Tat Subdistrict Municipal School in Fang district, Chiang Rai, win the provincial girls’ under‑15 title in the Prime Minister’s Youth Cup. She noted that the victory carried special meaning as an alumna and urged all Chiang Rai representatives to keep striving. Sornya praised the PMYC competition for giving teams from remote districts a chance to play without the burden of long‑distance travel, allowing more young athletes to gain match experience and improve their skills. She observed that Ban Tat Municipal School, which initially had modest ability, has developed through regular training and competition, gaining confidence, setting goals, and increasing practice time. Sornya believes that providing a platform for competition motivates youth to train harder and grow, and she hopes to see Chiang Rai’s volleyball talent continue to flourish in the future.
