GGC Expands Biodiesel into Sustainable Aviation Fuel

Global Green Chemical Public Company Limited (GGC) is upgrading its business toward sustainable growth by leveraging biodiesel (B100) technology to develop sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), while expanding its high-value bioproduct portfolio to enhance competitiveness and support global energy transition and demand for low-carbon products.

Kritsada Prasertsukhote, GGC's managing director, stated that amid global economic shifts, energy transition, and tightening environmental regulations, GGC is balancing growth and sustainability through three core strategies: strengthening core business, expanding growth through bio-based and high-value products, and integrating sustainability across all business operations to ensure long-term stable growth.

A key strategic direction for GGC is advancing biodiesel (B100) capabilities toward sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development, elevating bioproducts to high-value products that address energy transition goals and aviation's greenhouse gas reduction targets—an industry gaining global importance with continuous growth potential.

Realizing this requires strong foundations in raw materials, technology, policy, and cooperation among government, industry, and ASEAN nations to develop a sustainable SAF ecosystem. GGC is committed to partnering with all sectors domestically and regionally to drive innovation and policy mechanisms supporting sustainable aviation fuel adoption, while building integrated supply chains from upstream to downstream to serve future aviation industry needs.

Thailand and the ASEAN region possess substantial biomass potential, particularly palm oil, which can be developed into SAF to serve regional airlines, reduce aviation emissions, enhance energy security, and increase long-term value from national biological resources. For GGC, developing B100 into SAF represents more than product extension—it elevates Thailand's palm oil industry value chain toward internationally competitive, high-value clean energy.

Simultaneously, GGC is expanding its high-value bioproduct portfolio from existing businesses including biodiesel, fatty alcohols, and glycerin into products for future industries across four main categories: food and feed, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications such as bio-lubricants and bio-solvents—all high-value products addressing market needs.
