Industry Minister Warawut Silpaarch revealed that SME D Bank has expanded its lending program to cover SME entrepreneurs seeking special interest rate loans under the "SME Green Productivity" initiative, offering a remarkably low rate of just 3% annually, fixed for the first three years, with repayment periods extending up to 10 years, maximum individual loan amounts of 30 million baht, and a total credit line of 10 billion baht.
The initiative aims to support entrepreneurs facing high transportation fuel costs as part of relief measures for SME operators. Beyond providing capital assistance, the program elevates Thai SMEs toward green industry standards, enabling them to compete globally under new trade regulations emphasizing environmental sustainability.
Entrepreneurs can use the credit to transition vehicles to clean energy sources beyond electric vehicles (EVs), install solar panels, and upgrade machinery to use renewable energy.
