SME D Bank Unveils 2 Billion Baht SME Support Package
Thailand's SME Development Bank has launched a 2 billion baht support package featuring three measures to boost small business liquidity and reduce financing costs. The program offers top-up loans at 5% fixed interest, interest rate cuts on existing short-term notes, and higher factoring advance rates for government contracts. Additional green and micro-loan products are available at 3% fixed for three years.
SME D Bank has launched a major support package to help small and medium enterprises operate at full capacity through three measures: "Top Up," "Liquidity Enhancement PN," and "Liquidity Enhancement Factoring."
Mr. Pichet Mithrawong, Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), announced that the bank has introduced a set of measures to support SME entrepreneurs with capital, enhanced liquidity, and reduced financial burdens. This enables them to operate nimbly in the current situation and seize business opportunities from the final quarter of this year through the beginning of next year, while also increasing money circulation to stimulate the economy through three key measures:
1. "Top Up" measure with a 2 billion baht quota for existing SME D Bank customers of all business types with potential and good financial history. They receive additional credit rights to strengthen liquidity and expand business steadily. Loan amounts range from 500,000 to 5 million baht at a special fixed interest rate of just 5% for the first two years, with no collateral required. The Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC) can guarantee the full loan amount. Applications open from today until March 31, 2027, or until the quota is filled.
2. "Liquidity Enhancement PN" measure for existing SME D Bank customers with short-term promissory note (PN) credit lines and good financial history. They receive an interest rate reduction of 1.5%-2.5% from their current contract upon joining the measure from now until March 31, 2027, helping reduce financial burden and increase sufficient liquidity for current operations.
3. "Liquidity Enhancement Factoring" measure for SME D Bank factoring loan customers whose counterparties are government agencies, state enterprises, or state-owned enterprises with direct payment rights transfers. The purchase rate for trade receivables is expanded up to 95% from the normal maximum of 90% for those joining from now until March 31, 2027, providing increased working capital and liquidity to accept jobs more efficiently.
Additionally, for existing and new customers seeking capital to strengthen liquidity, invest, expand, improve, or upgrade their businesses, SME D Bank offers special interest rate loans at just 3% per year fixed for the first three years, with repayment up to 10 years. Examples include "SME Green Productivity Loan" with a maximum of 30 million baht per borrower (up to 15 million baht using CGC guarantee without collateral) for clean energy investments such as solar cell installation and EV adoption, and "Unlock SME Power Loan" with a maximum of 1 million baht per borrower for small entrepreneurs to access funding with relaxed conditions and no collateral required.
