Leapmotor Launches B03X EV in Thailand, Plans 100 Outlets by 2028
Chinese EV maker Leapmotor has launched its B03X smart SUV in Thailand, pricing the Design variant at 609,000 baht. The company, backed by a Stellantis partnership, outlined aggressive plans to open 100 sales and service outlets across Thailand by 2028 and establish a local parts warehouse and technical center. Leapmotor aims to make Thailand its Southeast Asian hub, pledging that over 90% of its local subsidiary jobs will go to Thai nationals.
Leapmotor Thailand officially launched the B03X under the concept "YOUNG STYLE, MORE SMILE," adding a new option to the EV market alongside growth plans and launch promotions. Deputy Chairman and CFO Li Tingfei stated that all cost savings are reinvested into visible equipment and safety systems. In partnership with global auto giant Stellantis, Leapmotor is expanding into Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America with over 2,000 sales and service outlets worldwide. Li emphasized that global operations mean putting down roots in each market, understanding customer needs, and integrating with local partners to build a strong, sustainable business ecosystem. Thailand is a key market in Leapmotor's global strategy and serves as an important base for localized operations. On September 30, 2026, the company announced the establishment of Leapmotor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to directly oversee brand, products, sales channels, and service, with plans to develop Thailand as a hub for expansion into Southeast Asia and right-hand-drive markets globally. Over the next three years, Leapmotor will advance on four commitments: products, network, service, and joint business development with local partners. In 2026, the B03X and an updated C10 will enter the market, followed by continuous introductions of new global models. The company targets expanding its sales and service network to 30 outlets in 2026, 65 in 2027, and 100 in 2028. On the service front, a parts warehouse and technical service center will be established in Thailand, ensuring existing customers receive benefits equal to new buyers. For employment, the company aims for Thai nationals to hold over 90% of positions in its Thai subsidiary and will collaborate with local partners to develop the smart and new-energy automotive industrial chain, creating value for users, industry, and society. The B03X highlights design, space, intelligent technology, and safety, supporting both daily commutes and leisure trips. It features a smiling front light, "LOL" rear lights, and five modern body colors reflecting vibrant personality. The cabin achieves an 88.1% space utilization rate, a 106-liter washable underfloor storage compartment, and versatile configurable space for luggage convenience. Inside, a floating 14.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus an integrated intelligent driving assist system. The long-range variant achieves up to 450 km (NEDC), supports DC fast charging up to 133 kW, and can charge from 30% to 80% in as little as 16 minutes. Safety uses CTC 2.0 Plus technology integrating the battery into the chassis structure with a protective battery frame, coupled with a high-strength cage body structure. Equipment varies by variant; actual performance depends on usage conditions. The B03X is offered in two variants: Design with an official MSRP of 609,000 baht, and Life with an official MSRP yet to be fully announced.
