Good Samaritan Struck By Truck After Rescuing Accident Victim
A Good Samaritan died after rescuing victims from a vehicle that plunged into a canal in Phetchabun province when a second truck struck him as he emerged from the water on July 11.
A tragic incident unfolded on July 11 when a bronze Toyota Vigo pickup truck, traveling from Khao Kho toward Lomsak district in Phetchabun province, lost control on rain-slicked pavement near Wang Bon Bridge in Namchun subdistrict. The vehicle struck a guardrail and plunged into a canal. Kittisak, a 39-year-old local resident, witnessed the accident and immediately ran across the road with two relatives to rescue the victims. However, as Kittisak was climbing out of the canal after finishing his rescue efforts, a bronze Isuzu D-Max pickup truck lost control and struck him severely. Lomsak Thai rescue volunteers transported him to Lomsak Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. His family mourned that Kittisak was a dedicated volunteer and owner of the herbal brand "Thai Lomsak," an OTOP product of Phetchabun province. He also served as a volunteer instructor teaching the community how to make herbal oils, herbal ointments, and herbal toothpaste. His body was held at Prachum Kongkaram Temple in Lomsak for Buddhist rites from July 11-15, with cremation services scheduled for July 16 at 4 p.m.
