Southern Thailand Music Festival Canceled as Artists Withdraw Over Payment Disputes
The Khaopip Music Festival in Chumphon was canceled tonight after multiple artists withdrew, accusing organizers of failing to pay agreed performance fees, leaving vendors and ticket holders demanding refunds.
Multiple artists have announced cancellations for the Khaopip Music Festival 2 scheduled for this evening in Chumphon province, claiming organizers failed to pay performance fees in full or honor agreed-upon terms. The cascade of withdrawals includes performers Sek Loso, MEYOU, NAP the NAP, Little Angels, and Choey Phuwasit, resulting in some ticket holders requesting refunds while vendors have filed complaints with police demanding accountability from event organizers.
Sek Loso posted on Facebook stating: "The Chumphon concert today is canceled. The host didn't pay in full, so I'm letting everyone know." White Music record label announced MEYOU's cancellation, citing operational and contractual problems preventing the scheduled performance. The Khaopip Music Festival issued a brief statement announcing the complete cancellation of this year's festival due to unforeseen complications, promising to provide refund details and further clarification as soon as possible while apologizing to all stakeholders.
