Thai Singer Quits Music After Audience Pays Him to Stop
Thai singer Thoffee 3.50 burst into tears after a restaurant patron paid him 300 baht to stop singing. He said the incident shattered his confidence and made him feel his singing career is over, leading him to consider other work such as opening a food stall. He thanked supporters and called for more thoughtfulness in public comments.
Thoffee 3.50, whose real name is Siwadon Chantansewi, shared a Facebook post describing an embarrassing incident at a local laab restaurant. The restaurant owner, Tee, invited him to join the stage and sing a few songs. After performing two or three tracks, Thoffee asked the audience if they wanted to hear more. A woman at a table in front of the stage shouted back, offering 300 baht for him to stop singing. He responded jokingly, saying he would take the money and use it to pay for his own table, hoping it would cover some of his mixer costs.
Thoffee said the comment hit him hard, leaving him feeling devastated and questioning his future as a singer. He remarked that his era of performing may be over and that he might need to find a new line of work, even joking about opening a laab restaurant. He thanked everyone who sent supportive messages, said he had never felt this way before, and urged people to think before speaking because a single sentence can either lift someone up or break them down.
